This is very unique stonework built in the era of Emperor Saimei. It is 2.3 meters in length, 2 meters in width, 1.26 meters in inner diameter and 0.2 meters in depth (carved inner tank).

Head shaped with round eyes is an intake. Thus, water flows from the shell to the tail.
There are fingers and legs, carved individually, from the shell. The water tank, which supplies the water into the head of the turtle, is 1.69 meters in total, 1 meter in width and 0.5 meter in height.

On the southern part of this stonework there are water flow facilities, which were piled up using bricks. It is believed that people used to perform ritual festivals here.
