Tsubaichi Cafe, Inukai Man'yo Memorial Hall(つばいちカフェ 犬養万葉記念館)

Renovated memorial museum celebrating the work of Takashi Inukai, one of the top researchers of Manyoshu poetry and an honored citizen of Asuka-mura. Mr. Inukai traveled all over Japan to visit the places related to the Manyoshu and was an advocate for the topography of manyo. Not only can you enjoy the scroll writings, book collections, and videos of Mr Inukai, who made the world of Manyo known widely to many people by his unique chanting of Manyoshu, but at the Tsubaichi Cafe you can also try 'omurice’ (700 yen), or omelet with locally grown rice cooked in tomato sauce, as well as other light foods and drinks. At this charming remodeled space that was once the Nanto Bank Asuka Branch, you can immerse yourself in the world of Manyoshu.
